Suzanne Lane has been a faculty member in the research methodology program at the University of Pittsburgh’s School of Education since 1986.
Lane is a former president of the National Council on Measurement in Education (NCME) and former vice president of Division D of the American Educational Research Association (AERA). She has served on numerous national and state assessment committees and advisory panels including on the National Research Council’s Committee on Test Design for K-12 Science Achievement; AERA, American Psychological Association, and NCME’s Joint Committee for the Revision of the Standards for Educational and Psychological Testing; the National Governors Association and Council of Chief State School Officers’ Mathematics and ELA National Review Panel for the Common Core Standards; and the U.S. Department of Education’s Race to the Top Technical Review Panel.
Lane’s work is published in journals including Applied Measurement in Education, Educational Measurement: Issues and Practice, and the Journal of Educational Measurement. She has served on the editorial boards for Applied Measurement in Education, Educational Assessment, Educational Researcher, Educational Measurement: Issues and Practice, and the Journal of Educational Measurement, among others.
