Alexa Posny, Ph.D

Alexa Posny joined Renaissance Learning in 2012 as the company's Senior Vice President of State & Federal Programs. Previously, she most recently served as the U.S. Department of Education's Assistant Secretary of the Office of Special Education and Rehabilitative Services, where she served as the principal special education adviser to Secretary Arne Duncan. Prior to that appointment, she served as Commissioner for the Kansas State Department of Education, and has also held numerous positions at both the U.S. Department of Education and the Kansas Department of Education. She has served on the Board of Directors for the Chief State School Officers and National Council for Learning Disabilities and chaired the National Assessment Governing Board's Special Education Task Force. She holds a Doctorate of Educational Administration degree from the University of Wisconsin.
