2018 NAEP Technology and Engineering Literacy Report Card
On April 30, 2019, the National Assessment Governing Board hosted a release event at the North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences for the 2018 NAEP Technology and Engineering Literacy (TEL) Report Card. The event, which was livestreamed for a national audience, included a presentation and analysis of the findings, a student-teacher panel discussing their experiences taking TEL interactive tasks, and an expert panel discussing the education and workforce implications of the report. This is a recorded livestream of the release event held at the North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences in Raleigh, N.C., for the 2018 NAEP Technology and Engineering Literacy Report Card, which tested 8th graders nationwide on this subject. The event, emceed by Board Chair and former North Carolina Governor Beverly Perdue, featured local teachers, students, leaders and experts, as well as analysis of report findings and a video of students in Charlotte, N.C. demonstrating technology projects.
Innovative Technology & Engineering Literacy (TEL) Program
McClintock Middle School, in Charlotte, NC, uses innovative approaches, including analyzing NASCAR race cars, to teach technology and engineering concepts and engage and excite students about the possibilities of TEL.
